It takes 4-6 weeks for routine passport service. For an additional $60.00 you can get expedited service that takes 2-3 weeks door to door.

What is the difference between a passport book and a card?
The main difference between the passport book and card is that the card can only be used for vehicle or ship travel between countries, and you must depart and return to the same port. If traveling via air, a passport book is required. So, if you are planning to take a cruise departing from and returning to a port in the United States, you would only need the passport card. However, if you have any plans to travel outside of the United States using air travel we would recommend you get the passport book.
Where do I go to get a Passport?
Your local post office can process and take photos for you. There are some places that will also take your passport photo for you, but if it does not make the specifications by the State Department. You will have to have it redone. Check with the post office. Our local one took our photos.
